TV News - Veronica Mars Casting
Some interesting casting news for the UPN show Veronica Mars. Zap2it
is reporting that Charisma Carpenter (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel) will appear in at least 6 episodes of the series during the upcoming season. In a slightly stranger casting twist, Steve Guttenberg (Police Academy) will guest in seven episodes, possibly more.
Fun Stuff - Mariah Boob Update
Apparently, that bit from a couple of days ago about Mariah Carey having a “wardrobe malfunction” at a concert was yet another internet rumor gone wild. It seems that while Ms. Carey did have problems with her dress, she never fell out of it as so many sites reported. Oh well, good news for Mariah. Not so much for the male fans sitting in the front row of that show.
Movie News - Chainsaw Prequel Casting
Jordana Brewster is in discussions to join the cast of the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel which is set to begin shooting in September. Brewster would play one of those who have the misfortune of meeting up with Leatherface in his early years. Maybe he’ll just be Leatherforehead at that point. CANOE has a
more complete recap of the Variety story.
Movie News - Former ‘Dukes’ Star Asking Fans Avoid New Movie
Former Dukes Of Hazard actor Ben Jones, who played Cooter on the show, is upset with the level of profanity and sexual content in the film remake of the series which is set to be released in a few weeks. He considers the new movie to be “a sleazy insult” to those involved with the original show and wants fans to take a pass on the new version. CNN has the AP story
here.
Am I the only one who finds it just a wee bit ironic that a guy who made a name for himself playing a character named ‘Cooter’ is disturbed by a little sexual content? One has to wonder what fellow TV actors Jerry ‘Beaver’ Mathers and Vincent ‘Big Pussy’ Pastore think about this controversy…
Fun Stuff - Top 10 Car Chases
CNN has
posted a fun little list of the top ten movie car chases of all time. The list is based on the results of a survey that was conducted by a car insurance company.
Movie News - What Was Michael Bay Thinking?
When Scarlett Johansson had to film a love scene for her upcoming film The Island she was unhappy with the bra she was supposed to wear. So instead of wearing the cheap bra, she opted to go without one, or anything else, for that matter. Director Michael Bay tells
Reuters that he had to make her keep her assets covered up in order to keep the movie rated PG-13. Her breasts warrant an R rating? Most Impressive. I’m not sure about anybody else, but I’m thinking that even with an R rating, a movie featuring a topless Scarlett Johansson is going to do pretty darn good at the box office.
Not for nothing, but if I was Bay, I would have let her strip anyway. Keep her R-rated boobies out of theaters and save them for an unrated DVD edition. Or, just keep the footage for the old private collection. Either way, Michael, give your head a shake, Scarlett Johansson could have been wandering around your movie set topless - who cares if you ever used the footage. Just think of the mammaries, err, memories you missed out on.
Movie News - Concert Bonus
Apparently German concert fans (at least the male ones) got their money’s worth at a recent Mariah Carey concert. Ireland Online is
reporting that the singer’s breasts decided to get out for a breath of fresh air while she was on stage. Why is a movie website reporting this? Well, one has to assume that if a similar accident had taken place during Glitter, it might not have been the bomb it was. Sure it’s a tenuous movie connection at best, but it’s the only way I could figure out how to post about Mariah’s boobs.
